What we do

Tell us about your Fitness Dreams

We are extremely proud of the professional coaching staff that we have at the Power Station and CrossFit Hood River. Our coaches all have extensive experience in the sports that they coach, are continually getting certified in additional components of their sports, and never stop improving, growing, and practicing in their sports.

Our private trainers have a wide range of expertise and specialties. Based on our clients needs, we are able to pair the right trainer up so that our clients are comfortable, motivated, safe, and ultimately successful in accomplishing their goals effectively.

Several of our programs are programmed in house by our coaches who have a direct link to the needs of their athletes. These programs include Boxing, HIIT, and Bike Endurance. Some of these programs are seasonally effected based on racing schedules and competition schedules. Our CrossFit program is designed by a world class group of CrossFit, Gymnastic, and Olympic Lifting leaders in the industry. We take great pride in the quality of the programs that we offer to our clients.

Meghan is our certified nutrition consultant. She practices through Precision Nutrition, and with her extensive knowledge through her Masters in Athletic training and her competitive level bodybuilding, we know that she can help you to get the body and performance that you are seeking.

It takes a big team to be sure that all of our members are properly taken care of and the gym is looking sharp all hours of the day. We love our front desk, administrative, and cleaning staff.

Jeri McMaster CFL1

Jeri discovered CrossFit in 2008 in Portland Oregon when she was training for an upcoming surfing trip. She quickly fell in love with the training program, not only for the physical results, but for the community, and the mental strength that developed over time. After a couple years studying it in Portland, she left her design career behind, moved to Hood River and founded CrossFit Hood River in 2009 out of the Children’s Park. After outgrowing spaces twice and upgrading facilities, she decided to take on the project of a larger facility with significantly more offerings. It is now this ever evolving space. Jeri has a long list of certifications in the fitness arena from writing programs and assessing body imbalances to olympic weightlifting and gymnastics. She coaches classes of all varieties at the gym. Her passions have been CrossFit and Cycling, since she discovered both. She loves the opportunity to have a community of varying interests here at Power Station HR.

CrossFit L1, Bike Endurance Coach

Mike Schrankel

Mike has been an avid cyclist since he was a teen, but he started letting his bike gather dust in the garage after marriage and the births of his two children. A routine physical at the age of 43 revealed high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and borderline obesity. Not content to start medication, Mike decided it was past time to get back into shape. Better nutrition, portion control, and regular indoor cycling classes (led by our own Kim Robinson) helped him shed nearly 50 pounds over the course of a year. After some prodding, he agreed to a 150 mile cycling event (before he even owned a road bike!). Although it poured rain for most of the ride, his passion for endurance cycling was rekindled. And after living in the Gorge for 10 years, he realized this is one of the best places on earth for cycling on the road as well as the dirt.<br /> Although skinnier, he wasn’t happy with his body composition and began resistance training to build muscle. Mike found he could make his workouts more interesting by adding in some high intensity cardio between sets of heavy barbell squats, deadlifts, and presses. He soon learned of a similar type of routine called CrossFit, and was intrigued to try it. This led to completing a CrossFit Level 1 course and a position coaching our popular Bike Endurance classes. Although cycling and heavy lifting during the winter are still his passion, you’ll see Mike become more involved on the CrossFit side of the gym in the coming months!
